Saturday, 01 August 2009 At approximately  1930 hrs this evening Dept 5 Westfield and Dept 16 Clymer were dispatched for a reported structure fire with smoke showing on Church St in the Borough of Westfield. Upon arrival Chief 5 advised heavy fire showing. Responding firefighters were able to quickly knock down the blaze with a 2.5" and a 1.5" line. A nearby hydrant provided for an ample supply of water. There was moderate damage to the structure itself with heavy damage to the contents including an auto that was in the structure at the time. Units were on scene for about an hour before returning to service.
